Home textiles, carpets and kitchenware on instalments in Egypt

Where to buy bedding, carpets, kitchenware and home appliances on instalments, what to check before you buy, a worked example, and why Lucid suits pieces rather than a whole trousseau.

You can buy home textiles, carpets or kitchenware on instalments in Egypt at stores such as PERA HOME, Royal Carpet, KARACA and Raneen: choose, scan the QR Code at the till with the Lucid app, and take your things home — no down payment, and one clear fee you see before you confirm.

A home is never finished. A sheet tears, the living-room carpet wears out, the pots need replacing, and winter arrives needing blankets. None of these is huge on its own, but when they land in the same month, they add up.

This guide covers where to buy for your home on instalments, what to check before you buy, and when it's worth it.

How home instalments work

1. An instalment app — you buy from a partner store against your limit. The store is paid in full, and you repay the app in instalments. You need a national ID and a selfie.

2. A credit card — you pay and convert the purchase into instalments with your bank. You need the card and proof of income.

3. The showroom's own plan — large furniture and appliance showrooms often have in-house plans with longer terms.

The practical difference: an app needs no card and no bank account, and suits mid-sized purchases. For large appliances such as fridges and washing machines, read electronics and appliances on instalments.

Before you go: check the branch is active in the store list inside the app. If you're heading to Raneen, read the Raneen instalments guide.

At the till: it takes about a minute

1. Open the app and check your available Purchase Power.

2. Pick your items and tell the cashier you're paying with Lucid.

3. QR Code → Scan → Done: the cashier shows you a code, you scan it, choose the number of months, and see the instalment and total before you confirm.

4. Get the invoice in your name, and ask about delivery and fitting for larger items.

Example: a carpet at EGP 8,000

Illustrative example: a living-room carpet priced at EGP 8,000, split over 4 months = EGP 2,000 a month, plus one administrative fee shown in the app before you confirm. No down payment — it's down on the floor today.

The real figures depend on the price and term, and the app shows you the exact total before you agree to anything. Your Purchase Power grows as you pay on time.

5 things to check before you buy

1. Size. Measure the space before you go — carpets, curtains and bedding are the items most often returned for size.

2. Material. Cotton or polyester? Wool or synthetic? The price difference reflects a difference in lifespan and comfort.

3. Delivery. Carpets and larger items need delivery — ask about the cost and timing.

4. Exchanges. Opened textiles sometimes can't be returned. Know the policy before you pay.

5. The cash price elsewhere. Accepting instalments doesn't mean the price is good. Compare.

When home instalments make sense

1. A big piece that will last — a carpet, a full bedding set, a good set of pots.

2. Furnishing all at once — moving house or redoing a room, when every cost arrives together.

3. A demanding season — winter and the run-up to Ramadan, when needs come together.

4. A genuine deal before payday — one that won't come round again soon.

When they don't

1. Small items — a towel or a glass. Pay cash.

2. A whole bridal trousseau — the amount is large and our terms are short. Lucid suits pieces of it, not the whole thing. For large amounts, a showroom plan or a finance company is a better fit.

3. If you're still paying off something big — don't stack two instalments at once.

Limits you should know

  • Coverage is currently Cairo, Giza and Alexandria.
  • The limit is up to around EGP 50,000, with plans of two to five months — suited to pieces, not furnishing a whole home.
  • There is a late fee, and late payments are reported to I-Score.
  • Not every branch is active — check the list in the app.

The bottom line

Home needs arrive in instalments — so it makes sense to pay for them in instalments. Use them for the big piece that will last, or for furnishing that lands all at once, and pay cash for the small things.

Check your Purchase Power in the Lucid app, and choose your store. If you want to catch the season's deals, read White Friday 2026 deals on instalments.
