Days out on instalments in Egypt: ski, cinema, play centres and hotels

Where to spread the cost of a big day out — ski days, birthday parties, family outings and hotel stays — when it makes sense, and when you're better off paying cash.

You can spread the cost of a big day out in Egypt — a day at the ski slope, a birthday party at a family entertainment centre, or a night in a hotel — at places such as Ski Egypt, Magic Planet and VOX Cinemas: book, scan the QR Code with the Lucid app, and enjoy it — no down payment, and one clear fee you see before you confirm.

Days out aren't the luxury many people think they are. A family outing in the holidays, a child's birthday, a different kind of day with friends — these happen on fixed dates, and those dates don't always come after payday.

This guide covers where you can pay for days out in instalments, when it genuinely makes sense, and when you're better off paying cash.

How instalments for days out work

1. An instalment app — you pay at a partner venue against your limit. The venue is paid in full, and you repay the app in instalments. You need a national ID and a selfie.

2. A credit card — you pay and convert the purchase into instalments with your bank. You need the card and proof of income.

3. Travel-agency offers — for trips and flights, usually tied to a specific bank's card.

The practical difference: an app needs no card and no bank account, and you pay at the venue itself. See instalments with just your ID.

Places you can pay in instalments with Lucid

To be clear: Lucid covers partner venues like these, not flights or travel agencies. If you're looking to finance a trip abroad, a bank card or a travel agency's offer is the better route.

Before you go: check the branch is active in the store list inside the app.

At the till or ticket desk: it takes about a minute

1. Open the app and check your available Purchase Power.

2. Say you're paying with Lucid.

3. QR Code → Scan → Done: you're shown a code, you scan it, choose the number of months, and see the instalment and total before you confirm.

4. Keep the receipt or ticket.

Example: a family day at the ski slope

Illustrative example: a ski day for a family of four totalling EGP 6,000, split over 3 months = EGP 2,000 a month, plus one administrative fee shown in the app before you confirm. No down payment — and the day out happens on time.

The real figures depend on the venue and term, and the app shows you the exact total before you agree to anything.

Lucid users sometimes get offers too — such as 10% off ski lessons at Ski Egypt, and 5% off at Topaz during the Al Ahly–Zamalek match in October 2026. These are announced on Lucid's pages for limited periods, so keep an eye on them.

When instalments for days out make sense

1. A big outing on a fixed date — a birthday, the mid-year holiday, a results celebration. The date won't wait for payday.

2. The whole family going — one ticket is small, but four or five add up.

3. A package or course — ski lessons or a sports membership that runs over weeks.

4. A genuine offer just before payday — one that won't come round again soon.

When they don't

1. One cinema ticket or a coffee — pay cash. Instalments make no sense here.

2. Weekly outings — if every outing becomes an instalment, they'll pile up fast.

3. If you're still paying off the last one — wait until it's cleared.

The bottom line

Instalments have one right place in days out: the big outing with a fixed date, or the one the whole family is going on. Use them there, and keep small outings on cash.

Check your Purchase Power in the Lucid app, and choose your venue. If you're looking for a gift for the occasion too, read perfume and beauty on instalments.
