Perfume and beauty on instalments in Egypt: where and how

Perfume and beauty on instalments in Egypt: where and how

Where to buy genuine perfume, make-up, beauty devices and salon services on instalments, how to check a perfume is genuine, a worked example, and the best gift seasons.

You can buy genuine perfume and cosmetics on instalments in Egypt at stores and brands such as Lancôme, Flormar, ARTDECO and Mazaya: choose, scan the QR Code at the till with the Lucid app, and walk out with your purchase — no down payment, and one clear fee you see before you confirm.

Genuine perfume is one of the purchases people hesitate over most. The price is high, the difference from a copy is obvious, and the occasion usually arrives before payday.

This guide covers where to buy fragrance and beauty on instalments, what to check before you buy, and when it's worth it — and when it isn't.

How beauty instalments work

There are three routes:

1. An instalment app — you buy from a partner store against your limit. The store is paid in full, and you repay the app in instalments. You need a national ID and a selfie.

2. A credit card — you pay and convert the purchase into instalments with your bank. You need the card and proof of income.

3. Store offers — some stores run seasonal instalment deals with specific banks.

The practical difference: an app needs no card and no bank account. See instalments without a credit card.

Before you go: check the branch is active in the store list inside the app — it's more accurate than any published list.

At the till: it takes about a minute

1. Open the app and check your available Purchase Power.

2. Pick your products and tell the cashier you're paying with Lucid.

3. QR Code → Scan → Done: the cashier shows you a code, you scan it, choose the number of months, and see the instalment and total before you confirm.

4. Get the invoice in your name — it matters if anything is wrong with the product.

Example: a perfume at EGP 3,600

Illustrative example: a genuine perfume priced at EGP 3,600, split over 3 months = EGP 1,200 a month, plus one administrative fee shown in the app before you confirm. No down payment — so the gift arrives on time.

The real figures depend on the price and term, and the app shows you the exact total before you agree to anything. Your Purchase Power grows as you pay on time.

5 things to check before you buy

1. Genuine or copy? The fragrance market is full of copies priced close to the original. Buying from an authorised store is your first safeguard — and buying from a partner store reduces that risk.

2. Production and expiry dates. Cosmetics have a shelf life. Check the box before you pay.

3. Try first. Ask for a tester, and swatch make-up on your hand. What looks right on a card may not on your skin.

4. Return policy. Most cosmetics can't be returned once opened. Know the policy before you pay, not after.

5. The cash price elsewhere. Accepting instalments doesn't mean the price is good. Compare.

When beauty instalments make sense

1. A genuine perfume — it's expensive and lasts for months, so spreading it makes sense.

2. A gift with a fixed date — a birthday, Mother's Day, an engagement. The occasion has a date; payday has another.

3. A beauty device — a hair dryer or straightener from a store like Rush Brush. Something you'll use for years.

4. A salon package for an occasion — a wedding or engagement, when every expense lands in the same month.

When they don't

1. Cheap everyday items — mascara or a basic cream. Pay cash.

2. Stacking purchases — if you're still paying off one perfume, don't add another. Your limit isn't your money.

3. Because "the offer is ending" — that pressure usually serves the seller.

Limits you should know

  • Coverage is currently Cairo, Giza and Alexandria.
  • The limit is up to around EGP 50,000, with plans of two to five months.
  • There is a late fee, and late payments are reported to I-Score.
  • Not every branch is active — check the list in the app.

The bottom line

Instalments aren't for every beauty product. They're for the item that's expensive and will stay with you: a genuine perfume, a device, or an occasion with a date. Use them there, and buy the rest with cash.

Check your Purchase Power in the Lucid app, then choose your store. If you need an outfit for the occasion too, read branded clothes on instalments.
