Instalments with no guarantor and no down payment in Egypt

A guarantor and a down payment are two different obstacles. Here is who requires which, why some providers still ask, and the four questions that settle any offer.

Yes — instalment financing in Egypt without a guarantor and without a down payment exists, and instalment apps are the most common route. They rely on your ID and repayment record instead of asking someone to vouch for you or demanding money upfront.

This guide separates the two conditions, covers who actually offers them, and lists what to ask before you sign.

They are not the same thing

People often conflate them, and the difference matters:

A guarantor is a second person who signs with you and becomes liable for the debt if you don't pay.

A down payment is money from your own pocket before you receive the item.

Some providers ask for no guarantor but require a down payment. Others do the reverse. Removing both is what puts instalments within reach of someone with neither cash on hand nor a person to vouch for them.

In short: to avoid both, instalment apps are the widest route — but check each provider individually, because terms change.

Why some providers require a guarantor

It isn't complexity for its own sake. A guarantor lowers the provider's risk, which lets them accept cases they otherwise couldn't.

But a guarantor carries a real cost: it places legal liability on another person and strains the relationship if you fall behind. Modern routes try to replace it with a different assessment — one based on identity and repayment record rather than a person's guarantee.

And why some require a down payment

A down payment reduces the financed amount, which reduces risk.

Watch this detail, though: some offers advertise "no down payment" and load the cost onto the instalments instead, so the total comes out higher. Nothing is free — the difference shows up in the total, not in the first payment.

So the right question isn't "is there a down payment?" — it's "what is the total in each case?"

The four questions that settle it

Ask them in these words, and ask for the answers in writing:

1. "Is a guarantor required?"

2. "Is there a down payment, and how much?"

3. "What is the total due in pounds?" — not the payment.

4. "What is the late fee?"there is no binding legal cap on it in Egypt.

What these routes actually require

  • A valid national ID
  • A selfie for identity verification
  • A mobile number in your name
  • Legal age

Usually not required: a credit card · a bank account · a salary certificate · cheques · a guarantor.

Your rights in law

Licensed consumer finance companies must disclose, before you contract, the financing amount, fees, annual rate, administrative costs and total due. And since September 2025, charging you on the unused portion of your limit is not allowed.

Asking for those numbers is a right, not a favour.

The market

Consumer finance in Egypt reached EGP 96.27 billion in 2025, up 57%, according to the Financial Regulatory Authority, with electronics and appliances the largest category at 25.5%.

Competition in that category is why terms like "no guarantor" and "no down payment" have spread — providers compete by removing obstacles.

Five warning signs

1. "Guaranteed approval for everyone" — no serious provider offers that.

2. Fees requested before approval.

3. Refusing to write down the total.

4. A social page with no identifiable company behind it.

5. Pressure to decide immediately — a real offer survives you thinking about it.

Choose the term for your worst month

Pick the term whose payment you could meet in a bad month, not a normal one. Shorter means a lower total but a higher payment; longer means a comfortable payment but a larger total and a longer window in which to slip.

Frequently asked questions

Is there instalment financing with no guarantor and no down payment in Egypt?

Yes. Most instalment apps require neither, relying on a national ID and a selfie rather than traditional guarantees.

What is the difference between a guarantor and a down payment?

A guarantor is a person who signs with you and becomes liable if you don't pay. A down payment is money from your own pocket before you receive the item. They are entirely different obstacles.

Does "no down payment" mean cheaper?

Not necessarily. Some offers load the cost onto the instalments, so the total comes out higher. Compare the total in both cases before deciding.

What is required for instalments without a guarantor?

Usually a valid national ID, a selfie, a mobile number in your name and legal age. A credit card, bank account and salary certificate are not required.

Why do some providers require a guarantor?

To reduce their risk, which lets them accept cases they otherwise couldn't. Newer routes replace it with an assessment based on identity and repayment record.

Is there a cap on late fees?

No binding legal cap exists in Egypt, so the figure varies widely between providers. Ask for it in pounds and confirm it is written into the contract.

How do I work out the real total?

Multiply the monthly payment by the number of months and subtract the cash price of the same product. That difference is the cost in pounds.

Does instalment financing without a guarantor affect my I-Score?

The obligation is recorded like any instalment plan, and paying on time builds your record. Lateness harms it, guarantor or not.

Can freelancers get instalments without a guarantor?

Yes on many routes, because they don't require documented fixed income. See instalment companies with no down payment or proof of income.

What is the biggest warning sign in these offers?

"Guaranteed approval for everyone" and fees requested before approval. No serious provider guarantees universal acceptance or asks for money before agreeing.

What if a provider refuses to write down the total?

Don't proceed. Disclosing the total due is a legal obligation on licensed companies, and the refusal is answer enough.

Can I get no down payment and a long term together?

Long terms sit mostly with banks and finance companies, whose conditions are harder. Apps offer shorter terms on easier conditions.
